Front-End Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Meraki seeks a superstar web front-end programmer to join our user interface team. We are developing innovative user interfaces to manage some of the world's biggest mesh networks and deliver compelling content to those networks' users.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain web-based interfaces for managing and visualizing large wireless mesh networks.
  • Design, build, and maintain end-user content delivery mechanisms for news, community announcements, advertising, etc.
  • Scale web site capacity to thousands of simultaneous users.
  • Find and solve performance bottlenecks arising in various parts of the system, from client-side Javascript to the database back-end.
Requirements
  • Awesome Javascript, CSS, and Ruby on Rails skills. You can make a browser do anything.
  • Attention to detail and an eye for for information design and tasteful user interfaces. You know when something looks good.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Engineering depth beyond web front ends. You understand the systems performance implications of your UI. You know how to scale a site to thousands of users.
  • Academic computer science background (BS required; MS/PhD a plus)
  • Experience with networking is a plus.

Firmware Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

This position is for talented hackers who love working on low level networking code and wireless firmware. Your work will be widely deployed and used to connect the unconnected.

Responsibilities
  • Device driver development
  • New hardware platform bring up and build environment optimization
  • Firmware performance optimization and analysis
Requirements
  • BS in computer science or equivalent. MS or PhD is a plus.
  • Exceptional C++/C programming skills
  • 3+ years experience in software/algorithm/protocol design, preferably in networking protocols or distributed systems.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Linux network device drivers.
  • Knowledge or experience in 802.11 wireless is preferred
  • Strong foundation in networking, and have developed systems in several networking areas, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, and wireless protocols.
  • Linux experience preferred.

Scaling Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Meraki is looking for talented hackers who are excited about working on a unique, large-scale system which is bringing affordable Internet access to the next billion people. Our tight-knit engineering teams work on challenging problems such as scalable, highly-available backend services, distributed authentication systems, and distilling massive amounts of data into useful web tools.

Responsibilities
  • Design core, backend software components
  • Code using primarily C/C++, Ruby
  • Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
  • Conduct design and code reviews
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
Requirements
  • M.S. Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Extensive experience building large-scale server applications
  • Expert knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java on *nix
  • Knowledge of ruby or other interpreted language

System Administrator

Meraki is looking for system administrators to help us build out our highly-available backend services and develop the tools to keep it growing and running smoothly. We're looking for people who live, eat, and breathe Linux, Apache, and relational databases because we do too.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and build out backend infrastructure
  • Design and implement extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant distributed server systems
  • Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
Requirements
  • B.S. Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of ruby, perl, C and shell
  • Experience deploying Linux, Windows, NS6.0, IOS
  • Worked with tools such as Nagios, Cricket, Ethereal, tcpdump, Symantec Ghost, Snort, IPtables

Strategic Account Manager - Carrier Sales

Location: San Francisco, CA

Meraki is helping carriers and operators to rapidly connect large numbers of people to broadband wireless in entirely new ways. The effective SAM will acquire and develop new business with carriers and operators within region or line of business. This is a hunter position.

Responsibilities
  • Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to deployment
  • Focus on driving new booked revenue in the carrier market and manage aggressive quota
  • Establish and maintain industry network and knowledge
  • Perform as advocate for the customer through solution selling, and technical, product and provision support.
  • Conduct contract negotiations
  • Internal planning and communication including sales force automation, contact management systems, business case development, and desktop applications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred, MBA a plus
  • Demonstrated consultative selling and major account management experience
  • Proven track record of performance against quotas
  • 4+ years of B2B technology sales experience

Account Executive - Carrier Sales

Location: San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities

Regional Channel Manager

Deployment Specialist

Location: San Francisco, CA

Meraki is looking for talented people to drive field research
involving wireless network deployments. This is a unique opportunity
to develop and document best in class techniques for deploying Meraki
networks. Some portion of time will be spent assisting the business
development team. This is an exciting role for someone that is hands
on, eager to learn, an effective communicator, and a great problem

  • Be the expert in network deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Channel Marketing Lead

  • Lead the company's direct marketing lead generation campaigns to drive web and telesales (inbound and outbound) revenue in the US and globally
  • Drive requirements to optimize Meraki's web site to improve lead generation and sales conversion rates
  • Track effectiveness of lead generation and lead conversion process
  • Work closely with the sales and product teams to find opportunities to improve marketing and sales effectiveness
  • Be key contributor to PR and awareness strategy and track impact of these activities on growing company awareness, lead generation, and sales
  • Manage annual budgeting and business case for direct and awareness marketing funding
Requirements
  • Experience with on-line and off-line lead generation campaigns including SEM, banner ads, affiliate, direct mail, lead lists, etc.
  • Several examples of successful campaigns that generated profitable sales. In particular, you need to be able to show how you determined the profitable cost of acquisition, how results were tracked, and how you optimized these programs
  • Experience with a web/telesales model for products that are a "considered" purchase. Experience with outbound telesales is a big plus
  • Proven ability to work effectively with sales (especially telesales) and product teams is a must
  • Experience selecting, managing, and working with marketing agencies especially on-line (e.g., SEM) and PR
  • Industry experiences that are a big plus include marketing to SMBs in a multi channel company (e.g., web, telesales, channel) and knowledge of the wireless, broadband, and telecom carrier marketplace

From our web site, to sales collateral, to messages to our existing customers you will be pivotal in establishing a consistent Meraki tone and brand. Responsibilities:
  • Lead copywriting activities for all major communication vehicles including our web site, sales collateral, customer communications, etc. and for product packaging/collateral (e.g., how to guides)
  • Provide copywriting leadership, guidelines, and editing for external communications produced by other groups in the company (e.g., company blog that my have contributors from product, engineering, sales, etc.)
  • Manage any external agencies or contractors we may employ to provide additional copywriting services
Requirements
  • Deep copy writing experience across a wide variety of communication vehicles (e.g., web site, sales collateral, product packaging and manuals, blogs, annual reports, etc.)
  • Expertise taking technical concepts and simplifying the message to communicate with non-technical audiences
